Role Overview:
We are seeking a
Fiber OSP Designer
to support the design and deployment of
FTTx / fiber network infrastructure . This role is design-forward and construction-aware — ideal for someone who enjoys translating network plans into
clear, buildable construction prints
that field crews can execute confidently.
You will work across
aerial and underground fiber routes , collaborate with construction and project teams, and help ensure designs are
cost-effective, compliant, and constructible .

What You'll Be Doing:
OSP Design & Engineering
Design
aerial and underground fiber routes
for FTTx, last-mile, and middle-mile projects
Produce
construction-ready OSP drawings
using CAD and GIS tools
Develop
fiber allocation sheets, splicing diagrams, and route maps
Design underground pathways including
HDD, trenching, and conduit systems
Perform or support
aerial make-ready and pole loading analysis
Permitting & ROW Support
Prepare permit drawings and support submissions to
municipalities, DOTs, and railroads
Coordinate with joint-use utility owners for
pole attachment applications
Research
ROW access, easements, and utility conflicts
Field & Construction Support
Participate in
field walkouts
to validate routes and identify constructability issues
Adjust designs quickly when field conditions differ from plans
Create
Bills of Materials (BOMs)
for budgeting and procurement
Update
as-built documentation
post-construction
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of hands‑on
OSP fiber design
experience (aerial or underground)
Experience producing
construction-ready OSP drawings
Familiarity with
FTTx fiber networks
Working knowledge of
NESC
and basic ROW concepts
Comfort working in
CAD and/or GIS environments
Nice‑to‑Have:
Experience with
3‑GIS, Aramis, Spatial INFO, QGIS, ArcGIS
Pole loading analysis or make‑ready design
Railroad or DOT permitting experience
Advanced Excel for BOM creation
California GO 95 / GO 128 knowledge
Tools & Technologies:
AutoCAD / MicroStation
ArcGIS / QGIS
OSP platforms: 3‑GIS, Aramis, Spatial INFO (or similar)
Excel (BOMs, tracking)
Work Environment:
Hybrid model : A mix of office/remote work for design and drafting, combined with field visits for scoping and verification.
Field travel for walkouts and verification (project‑dependent)
Supportive engineering and construction collaboration
