
Job Description Summary
The Limited Energy Estimator III/Sr. Estimator is responsible for directly assisting business development and leading the preparation of complete low voltage system estimates of commercial projects including aviation, education, multi-family housing, government, commercial offices, mission critical, healthcare, etc.. Complete estimates include all quotations and subcontractors required for the project. A high degree of accuracy, communication, and attention to detail is required.

Role & Responsibilities
Accurately interpret the design drawings and specifications submitted. This includes all drawings from all disciplines including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical drawings Schedule and participate in estimating kickoff meetings. Perform the pre-bid bid reviews with the Estimating Team including the Chief Estimator. Lead final bid reviews with the entire Estimating Team. Prepare quotation of materials and subcontracts. Review and understand the Electrical and Low Voltage Systems specifications. Review bid documents and attend pre-bid meetings and job walks to determine the scope of work. Participate in interview prep meetings, customer interviews, and respond to customer questions. Participate in committee and department meetings. Identity and develop estimating standards. Accurately estimate labor, materials, and administrative costs for projects. Lead small teams of estimators tasked with preparing estimates for large projects. Assist the Chief Estimator with scheduling of estimating resources and planning required to ensure timely and accurate completion of estimates. Complete bid forms and prepare necessary supporting documentation. Create scope of work documents which accurately describe the inclusions, assumptions and clarifications used in preparing bid estimates. Develop scopes of work and/or bid leveling documents used in soliciting quotes for third-party products and services. Capable of leveling bidders to ensure complete scopes of work and accurate cost information. Collaborate with the Business Development team and/or division leadership to develop a bid strategy specific to each opportunity. Verify and maintain detailed records of estimate revisions and other supporting documents as needed. Verify completion of the estimator check list. Facilitate communication with Business Development and preconstruction team as well as Designers, Project Managers, General Foreman, and others to resolve issues throughout the project. Utilize estimating software to properly estimate projects, enter data, and perform takeoffs. Assist with the development of training and mentorship programs. Develop and mentor talent.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent. Two (2) year degree in related field or equivalent experience is preferred. 10+ years of experience in the commercial construction industry is preferred. 6+ years of experience in electrical conceptual estimating, low voltage estimating, and/or design-build estimating preferred. Strong computerized estimating skills using electrical estimating software; experience with Procore Estimating or D-Tools is a plus. Strong knowledge in the use of Bluebeam software for construction-related purposes. Strong mathematical skills, coupled with strong Microsoft Office skills (with an emphasis on Excel) are mandatory requirements for this position. Competent organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Additionally, presentation skills are highly desirable. Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload in a manner that ensures timely and accurate completion of all assigned tasks. Ability to work in both an autonomous environment, as well as part of a larger team. Effective problem-solving skills. Effective time management skills and ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers and fax machines. Employees are frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl. This position requires the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. This position may occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
Pay Range: $85,500.00 - $118,750.00 Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
