
Construction Superintendent New York Metro area hybrid

Company is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent (Contract)
To manage and oversee all on-site construction activities for new building and site development projects. This role is responsible for coordinating subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring construction execution aligns with project milestones, quality standards, and safety requirements. The Superintendent will work closely with the Project Manager and internal construction leadership to deliver projects successfully.
Contract Positions: 100% contract position no benefits.
Locations: Middle Village in NYC and Pelham Manor.
Stores: About 105k sq ft. Usually has a gas station but have a firm that works on the c-store components for the most part. Take about 6 months to build.
Future: They have 65 locations in the pipeline.

Engagement Type: Contract
Services and Deliverables / Scope of Work On-Site Construction Management
Manage and oversee all on-site construction activities related to building construction and site work.
Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for subcontractors and field personnel.
Manage and resolve daily job site issues in coordination with subcontractor superintendents.
Scheduling & Planning
Develop the master project schedule to establish key milestones for subcontractors and material deliveries.
Update the project schedule on a bi-weekly basis to reflect progress and changes.
Produce and maintain a rolling three-week look-ahead schedule aligned with the MS Project master schedule in collaboration with the Project Manager.
Ensure subcontractor activities are executed in accordance with the approved project schedule.
Direct and manage subcontractor activities to ensure timely, safe, and quality execution of work.
Monitor field productivity and sequencing to avoid delays or conflicts.
Communicate expectations clearly to subcontractors and enforce schedule compliance.
Documentation & Controls
Produce and maintain a submittal log with defined milestones.
Review change requests and provide recommendations regarding scope, schedule, and cost impacts.
Review contractor claims and disputes and recommend resolutions to management.
Provide regular progress updates to the Project Manager and Director of Construction.
Collaborate with the Project Manager to align field execution with overall project objectives.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent on commercial or retail construction projects.
Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination.
Experience working with MS Project and look-ahead scheduling.
Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and resolve on-site issues efficiently.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently in a contract-based role while collaborating with internal teams.
Contract position with project-based duration.
