Build your future with us The Cincinnati Specialty Underwriters Insurance Company has an opening for an efficient underwriting assistant team lead. This position is responsible for supporting a team of underwriting assistants within all aspects of territory management, including new, renewal, and post-issue transactions.
The pay range for this position is
$26.44
hourly. The pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus based on company and individual performance.
Be ready to:
coach, train, and monitor performance of the underwriting assistants on the team to ensure standards are being met including file audits
communicate pertinent information regarding policy and processes to support the underwriting workflow
monitor and enhance underwriting assistant training needs
work closely with C-SUPR compliance coordinator on state by state tax reporting and compliance requirements
assist direct reports with career development including planning and monitoring progress
develop procedural and process guidelines used by underwriting assistants
work interdepartmentally with IT, Staff Underwriting, Accounting, and other areas on various tasks and projects
assist C-SUPR underwriting managers and department head on a variety of projects
Be Equipped With:
excellent interpersonal communication skills
the ability to prioritize and organize work
proficient knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Excel and Outlook
the ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form
strong attention to detail
a willingness to work hard and learn in a dynamic environment
proven willingness to work and learn with a sense of urgency as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
creative thinking and problem solving skills
the ability to think quickly and effectively
self-directed and highly productive with light supervision
comfortable with high volume workloads and production standards
the ability to navigate web-based applications and complete Web-based research as needed
Bring education or experience from:
a bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
AINS certification preferred (completion required within three years of start date if selected for the position)
completion of the ASLI designation is required upon completion of AINS certification
knowledge of commercial insurance rating's process is helpful, but not required
