Senior Military Trainer - Air Operations Exercise Specialist
and be part of a dedicated team focused on enhancing military operational readiness through innovative Collective Joint Training (CJT). This role offers a unique chance to leverage your expertise in air mission planning within a collaborative and impactful environment. Key Responsibilities: Support the comprehensive planning, integration, and execution of air missions in high-stakes Tier 1 Combatant Command exercises. Utilize your deep knowledge in strategic and operational planning to inform joint and combined air operations, focusing on adversary air tactics. Take lead on transforming strategic objectives into actionable plans while fostering relationships with key stakeholders, including Combatant Commands and allied nations. Manage the logistics of exercise planning, ensuring seamless force allocation and execution timelines. Conduct thorough analyses of operational environments and adversary capabilities to enhance mission planning. Design and refine adversary air campaign plans and detailed exercise scenarios that integrate complex air operations. Facilitate collaboration among various military branches, allies, and air planners to define training objectives and campaign scenarios. Maintain accurate Orders of Battle (OB) for adversary and allied forces to ensure realism in exercises. Integrate air operations across joint components within the Joint Operations Planning Process (JOPP). Serve as the primary authority for air operations exercises, campaign simulations, and adversary air planning. Provide expert guidance on adversary air capabilities and effective counter tactics to shape exercise outcomes. Qualifications: U.S. citizenship. Active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance. Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of joint operational experience, or a Master's degree with 4+ years. A minimum of 3 years in a 3-star or 4-star Joint or Service Headquarters staff or civilian equivalent. Strong familiarity with deploying joint forces and understanding of operational-level planning. Experience with the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) and Universal Joint Task List (UJTL). Intermediate Service School graduate. Ability to work on-site in Suffolk, Virginia. Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time. Excellent analytical, writing, and presentation skills. Proven ability to collaborate closely with senior military and civilian leaders. Experience with joint and multinational training and exercises. This position is located in Suffolk, Virginia.
