Job Title: KDUP Assistant Music Director (Physical Collection)
Department: Student Activities
Terms and Hours: Approx. 8 to 10 hrs/week

Hourly Wage: Monthly Stipend Payment
Job Summary This is a student volunteer experience position. Volunteer experience participants receive monthly stipend payments.
This position assists the Music Director in various tasks, including music selection, cataloging, and outreach to musicians. It also involves collaborating with the KDUP team to achieve station goals and build relationships with staff and listeners.
Core Duties
Reports to the Music Director
Collaborate with KDUP team members in setting goals and objectives for the radio station
Establish collaborative working relationships with KDUP staff and KDUP listeners to meet needs and solve problems
Assist Music Director in choosing, screening, and cataloging music, by reviewing incoming albums and CDs, regularly updating the online review archive for DJ reference and placement on the play shelf
Respond to DJ and listener requests for specific music genres/tracks
Attend KDUP trainings, meetings and events
Assist Music Director in reaching out to musicians, performers, or managers via the KDUP email for events on campus and other collaborative purposes for the radio station
Other relevant duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Required: Minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA to apply
Preferred Qualifications
High attention to detail and working within an assigned budget
Effective, timely, and professional communication to students, faculty/staff, and external vendors
Prior experience with music and/or active radio stations, or an interest in learning
Physical Requirements
Preferred: Ability to lift 25-50 pounds and push heavy equipment on wheeled cart
Required: Attending weekly staff meetings
Required: Attending at least 3 volunteer meetings per semester
Required: Hold 2 office hours each week
Required: All staff are expected to attend and help with set up and tear down for all KDUP events
