Structural Steel and/or Miscellaneous Steel Estimator

Project Estimating Responsibilities
Review architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and documents to prepare accurate material take-offs.
Quantify shop and detailing hours for fabrication.
Evaluate bid drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine scope of work.
Communicate with General Contractors during bid phases and negotiate qualifications.
Develop detailed project proposals and participate in bid negotiations.
Assist project management with pricing on major revisions.
Coordinate with subcontractors to obtain and verify quotes.
Maintain knowledge of industry standards, materials, and construction techniques.
Occasionally hand-deliver bid proposals.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience estimating structural and/or miscellaneous steel.
Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings and specifications.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
Experience with Tekla PowerFab preferred.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred:
Miscellaneous steel estimating experience.
Project management or steel detailing experience.
