This role is essential for cultivating a dynamic worship experience that resonates with the congregation's spiritual journey while fostering community engagement through music and praise.

The Worship Leader is a vital role within the church community, responsible for guiding the congregation in worship through music and spiritual engagement. This position requires a passionate individual who can inspire others, lead worship services, lead and grow the worship team and A/V team, and foster a vibrant worship culture. The Worship Leader will collaborate with the senior pastor, church staff, and volunteers to create meaningful worship experiences that align with our church’s mission and vision.

Primary Areas of Accountability

Work under the senior pastor to maintain a unified vision and direction.

Lead congregational worship during services, ensuring a spiritually uplifting atmosphere.

Plan and coordinate worship music selections in collaboration with pastoral staff. Mentor and develop musical talent within the congregation, encouraging participation in worship teams.

Educate team members on musical arrangements, vocal techniques, and instrumentation to enhance overall performance.

Organize rehearsals for the worship team and the A/V tech team ensuring all members are prepared for services.

Communicate effectively with team members and church leadership regarding schedules, song selections, and any changes to plans.

Foster an environment of teamwork and collaboration among musicians, vocalists, and technical support staff.

Stay current with contemporary worship trends while respecting traditional elements of worship as appropriate. (We do a blended modern/contemporary and traditional/hymn service.)

Education + Experience

Strong leadership abilities to guide and inspire a diverse group of individuals.

Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and the congregation.

Experience in mentoring musicians and vocalists to help them grow in their skills. (Preferred) Ability to educate others on music theory, vocal techniques, or instrumental performance as needed. (Preferred)

Proficiency in playing an instrument, such as guitar or piano. (Required)

A deep understanding of various musical styles relevant to contemporary worship settings. (Preferred)

A minimum of 3 years of active service on a worship team. (Required)
