Overview
The National Sales Manager role is responsible for generating group business from a national market. The primary objective is to maximize revenue generation and market penetration within the geographic territory, including nurturing existing accounts and feeder markets, developing high‑potential markets, and identifying emerging sources of business. The position serves as a Resort product expert to the group meetings industry and advocates the entire CoralTree portfolio. It requires a thorough understanding of direct sales, account management, and distribution channels related to group room sales. Candidates must be able to multi‑task, problem‑solve, manage administrative expectations, and adapt flexibly to differing situations.

Responsibilities
Apply a proactive and strategic sales approach to business solicitation, including phone solicitation, customer appointments, sales missions/blitzes, trade show participation, online research, and resort‑wide customer event participation.
Prospect via direct telephone sales, email, internet, and other sources within the assigned market.
Make personal visits when necessary to target areas and call on prospective clients in a specific market or area.
Book annual, regional, sales, executive‑level, incentive, and leadership meetings from the assigned territory.
Rebook and maintain existing accounts while soliciting new accounts.
Respond to all correspondence from assigned areas and track prospecting and follow‑up dates.
Set up site inspections and FAM trips with appropriate on‑site communication, planning, and follow‑through.
Attend trade shows and industry association meetings, seminars, and functions.
Serve as an active participant in all CoralTree sales programs, including Synergy Sales, Affinity Team sales, and Strategic Account Teams, and advocate sister properties within the portfolio.
Perform general office duties and assist other personnel as required.
Maintain constant contact with meeting planners and keep membership in hotel industry associations.
Maintain a positive working relationship with departments interacting with convention groups.
Develop new accounts by demonstrating the ability to identify potential customers through prospecting.
Stay abreast of industry trends and recommend operational changes.
Maintain accurate sales productivity forecasts, manage budgeted expenses, and report recap information.
May supervise one or more administrative assistants.
Maintain constant contact and excellent relationships with CoralTree Global Sales, Representation Firms, and third‑party contacts.
Understand the legality of contractual agreements and participate in ongoing training opportunities.
Effectively deal with internal and external guests, including handling levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect factual information, and resolve conflicts.
Analyze resource reports through Envision, Knowland, Cvent, etc.
Have a sound understanding of yield management principles.
Motivate and actively contribute to a collaborative and productive work environment.
Understand how to develop a direct sales plan for a defined market and evaluate business trends to modify strategies.
Attend department and other property meetings.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a group sales role or closely related direct sales position.
Preferred: experience selling a AAA 4/5 diamond property and experience in a property with a dominant group business mix.
Knowledge of computer systems related to account and yield management and technical proficiency in Microsoft applications.
Customer service experience in a high‑volume environment with strong problem‑solving skills.
Strong financial competency highly desired.
