
Director, Healthcare System Foundation

Foundation Director
The Foundation Director will be responsible for developing and implementing the Fund Development strategy and will provide long‑range strategic and operational leadership for donor constituency building and donor engagement services.
Responsibilities
Build an effective Development Program producing top‑quartile results in annual giving.
Develop standards and systems that are the core infrastructure of the Foundation.
Direct the management functions of the Foundation, including the hiring and evaluation of staff, budget preparation, distribution of funds as approved by the Board, donor recognition, and maintaining accurate donor records and databases.
Establish, direct and manage the fundraising programs and activities of the Foundation within the communities and areas served.
Prepare fundraising development goals, objectives and strategies for approval by the Foundation Board and by the Health System President; and upon approval, implement them.
Lead the Capital Campaign, provide guidance and manage Capital Campaign activities, prospect tracking, solicitation assignments and donor recognition events.
Develop comprehensive strategy to educate past patients, the community, Board members and physicians about planned giving strategies to build endowment support.
Communicate effectively and maintain positive relationships with important community, business or professional individuals or groups within the service area; interact with the philanthropic community, private foundations and corporations to seek new funding opportunities.
Work effectively with the CEO, VP, Human Resources and System Development, Board and across all Board Committees to accomplish the outlined goals and objectives, ensuring that the Board and other volunteers are engaged and that organizational support is in place.
Education Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Development, Marketing, Project Management, Non‑Profit Management, International Development or related program (Master’s Degree Preferred). CFRE preferred.
Experience, Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of job‑related experience.
Knowledge of non‑profit operations.
Experience working with Senior‑Level executives.
Proven fundraising experience and demonstrated success in achieving fundraising targets.
Knowledge of the workings of a board of directors and/or non‑profit committees.
Strong leadership skills.
Exceptional time‑management skills.
Strong verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically.
Strong partnership‑building skills.
Proven ability to work independently, meet deadlines and balance multiple priorities.
Must be a highly motivated, enthusiastic self‑starter.
Highly organized, efficient, resourceful and dependable.
