We're seeking a dynamic Anchor/Multimedia Journalist who brings urgency, authenticity, and a digital-first mindset to local news, making a real impact in our community. Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Anchor dynamic live newscasts: Command the desk, delivering clarity and connection to our viewers daily. - Craft powerful narratives: Write, proofread, and meticulously edit scripts for broadcast and digital, ensuring conversational, accurate, and impactful storytelling. - Drive editorial vision: Actively participate in the editorial process, collaborating with the team to shape complete, accurate, and engaging newscasts. - Own local reporting: Regularly report on local events, enterprise compelling stories, and cover breaking news across all platforms. - Go multi-platform: Operate video cameras, edit your own compelling content, and ensure every story shines across digital and broadcast channels. - Foster a winning culture: Work seamlessly with colleagues, contributing a positive vibe, taking ownership of growth, and being receptive to feedback.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism or equivalent professional experience. - Significant, proven experience regularly anchoring daily/nightly live newscasts (this is not an entry-level role), must have a strong, commanding, dynamic on-camera presence. - Demonstrated ability to operate a video camera, edit video, and write clearly, conversationally, and accurately for broadcast and digital platforms. - A true journalist's instinct: passionate about impactful local news, not feature/entertainment reporting or social media influencing. - An experienced storyteller adept at making complex information accessible and engaging. - Must be flexible to the needs of news cycles. - A safe driving record is also required.
