Spur Design is looking for a licensed Interior Designer who wants to design with purpose. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, is NCIDQ certified, and has 3–6 years of experience. Responsibilities

Provide architectural and technical support on various project types within Spur Design including AutoCAD/BIM project set-up, development, and detailing

Assist in the development of tools and standards related to the BIM process and internal Spur Design drafting standards

Aid in the operations of Spur Design offices in the maintenance of office systems including the updating of trade libraries and filing systems

Coordinate with the Project Architect and Design team to ensure Construction documents are fully integrated and comply with all project, client, and regulatory standards

Assist the Project Architect in the coordination of sub-consultants at all production and drawing coordination levels

Manage and organize multiple project assignments to complete architectural projects for Interior Designers or Project Architects

Conduct project and product research for finishes, fabrics, and /or furniture selections related to assigned projects. Help establish and maintain the local Spur office Materials Library

Develop project finish requirements including but not limited to: Room Finish Schedule, Material Boards, Concept Ideas, and Renderings

Perform submittal reviews under the supervision of an architect

Ensure project compliance with local, federal, and VA TIL standards

Verify compliance with Spur drafting and quality control standards

Attend weekly or bi-monthly team member and client coordination meetings

Assist with on-site observations and draft field reports for site investigations

Participate in mentorship programs to empower all Spur employees

Provide guidance and mentorship to interns and graduate interior designers

Demonstrate professionalism and represent Spur with integrity in all settings

Generate all architectural concepts for interiors projects, including full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating interior design assignments

Provide subject matter expertise on specific components of Interior Design such as medical equipment, furniture, fabrics, and materials.

Generate interior concepts for projects such as furniture and equipment planning, special design concepts, and signage

Qualifications

3 - 6 years of professional experience (licensed)

Must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design

Registered Interior Designer and NCIDQ-certified professional

Present portfolio of completed designs

Experience in design software including but not limited to AutoCAD and Revit

Strong creative design skills with ability to implement unique solutions

Excellent time management skills - must be able to work on multiple projects at the same time while maintaining tight project schedules

Possess good customer service skills, along with communication and interpersonal skills between the architectural team and consultants

Ability to assist in the selection of appropriate materials

Capable of communicating and directing design concepts in partnership with clients and internal team members

Short-term Disability (STD) and Long-term Disability (LTD) are provided at no charge and include compensation of up to 60% of annual base salary.

Life insurance in the amount of up to $100,000 or 2x annual base salary (whichever is less) is provided at no charge.

Health Insurance, employer covers 100% of employee and family premiums

Dental Insurance, employer covers 100% of employee and family premiums

Vision Insurance. employer covers 100% of employee and family premiums

Retirement benefits include matching 401k contributions of 1-for-1 matching up to 3% and 1-for-2 matching up to 5%, with a maximum match of 4% for a 5% employee contribution. This plan is a “safe harbor” eligible plan and, subsequently, no vesting period is required past initial eligibility requirements.

Spur Design also offers reimbursement of training and professional organization dues or fees with prior approval by ownership.
