The Assistant Director of Finance (ADOF) supports the Area Director of Finance and Finance Operations Director in overseeing the hotel’s general ledger and financial reporting functions. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of monthly financial statements and management reporting. The ADOF partners closely with hotel leadership and department heads during forecasting and budgeting cycles. As well, this leader helps ensure the Finance Department operates in alignment with Hyatt corporate standards while meeting guest and ownership expectations. Hyatt at Olive 8 is part of our unique three-property collection of Hyatt hotels in downtown Seattle, which also include Grand Hyatt Seattle & Hyatt Regency Seattle. With three distinct brands, yet one Hyatt family, there is exciting opportunity for growth!
Responsibilities
Prepare and review journal entries, month-end reports, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Participate in monthly financial reviews and assist in presenting financial results to the Leadership Committee and ownership representatives.
Supervise and support Finance team members, including training, coaching, counseling, interviewing, and performance evaluations in alignment with Hyatt service standards.
Oversee on-site finance functions to ensure proper fiscal management, timely reporting, and accurate financial analysis.
Support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, and cash management processes.
Manage systems administration, general ledger account reconciliations, inventories, monthly closings, and full P&L responsibilities.
Assist in maintaining and monitoring SOX compliance.
Support the year-end audit process, including preparation and review of reconciliations and audit work papers; respond to auditor requests to ensure full compliance.
Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and analyze variances, partnering with department leaders to improve cost controls and revenue performance.
Provide exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders in support of Hyatt’s service excellence standards.
Foster collaborative working relationships across departments.
Assist with special reporting and financial analysis projects as assigned.
The salary range for this position is $80,169 - $115,300. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, including experience, qualifications, and education.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Finance, or Accounting preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of progressive Finance or Accounting experience.
Prior experience supervising team members.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
Strong leadership qualities including high energy, entrepreneurial mindset, and motivational leadership style.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present financial concepts to non-financial leaders.
Exceptional organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with Hyperion, Birchstreet, Infrasys, and Oracle strongly preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
