
ERL is seeking an experienced Product Developer to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Production, this role oversees end-to-end development and sample execution across domestic and imported apparel and accessories.
You will lead the full development lifecycle — from initial concept through production hand-off — partnering closely with Design to translate creative vision into executable luxury product. This role ensures design integrity, elevated quality standards, cost alignment, and on-time seasonal delivery.
We’re looking for a Los Angeles–based product developer with deep expertise in complex garment manufacturing, advanced tech pack ownership, extensive fabric sourcing experience, and strong existing mill relationships.
Product Lifecycle
Lead development from concept through production hand-off
Drive seasonal calendars and maintain WIP/ERP accuracy
Technical Development
Build and manage detailed tech packs from concept to bulk
Ensure complete construction, grading, BOM, wash, trim, and packaging specifications
Update documentation through fittings and clearly communicate revisions to vendors
Design & Fabric Partnership
Collaborate with Design to translate concepts into executable product
Lead fabric and trim sourcing across domestic and global mills
Evaluate textile performance (shrinkage, wash behavior, dye uptake, durability)
Manage lab dips, strike-offs, testing, and approvals
Serve as primary liaison for LA and international factories
Oversee proto, fit, SMS, and PP samples
Review fit, construction, quality, and margin alignment
Partner on costing strategy and development budgets
Production Readiness
Own seasonal handoffs ensuring finalized tech packs, fit approvals, fabric approvals, testing results, and confirmed costs prior to bulk
Maintain organized documentation including tech packs, sample tracking, POs, and vendor communication
Qualifications
4–7 years product development experience (luxury/contemporary preferred)
4+ years developing product in Los Angeles
Deep knowledge of complex garment construction and textile performance
Strong mill relationships and fabric sourcing expertise
Advanced tech pack proficiency
Strong understanding of washing, dyeing, shrinkage, print, and embroidery
Highly organized and able to manage multiple concurrent deadlines
