
Position Summary
We are hiring a seasoned
Lead Carpenter
to guide custom residential builds and high-end remodeling projects throughout Barre, VT and surrounding communities. This role blends expert-level carpentry skills with on-site leadership, ensuring projects are executed with precision, efficiency, and superior craftsmanship.
The right candidate will be highly hands‑on, organized, and confident directing field operations while maintaining strong collaboration with homeowners, designers, and trade partners across the Barre area.
Primary Responsibilities
Supervise carpenters and subcontractors on residential new construction and renovation projects in Barre
Translate architectural plans and design drawings into accurate, high‑quality field execution
Oversee daily job site workflow, ensuring productivity, safety compliance, and adherence to project schedules
Maintain direct communication with clients to provide updates and address questions or concerns
Coordinate with project managers and design teams to keep construction milestones aligned with overall goals
Monitor craftsmanship standards and confirm work meets established quality expectations
Promote and maintain a clean, safe, and well‑organized job site environment
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of carpentry experience; prior crew leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and detailed architectural drawings
Strong leadership presence with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Capable of managing multiple responsibilities while meeting project deadlines
Commitment to delivering exceptional craftsmanship and positive client experiences
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to job sites throughout Barre, VT
