
LEAD IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/SYSADMIN)

Summary You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/SYSADMIN) in the DATA FUSION CENTER of MARITIME OPERATIONS CENTER. A post allowance amount, (otherwise known as: COLA), of 8.64% will be added to the stated salary. Post allowance is subject to change at any time. Responsibilities You will ensure that the organization’s strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team’s strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services. You will articulate and communicate to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion. You will coach the team in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques, provide advice on work methods, practices and procedures, and assist the team in identifying the parameters of a viable solution. You will train or arrange for training of team members in methods and techniques of team building and working in teams to accomplish tasks or projects. You will monitor and report on the status and progress of work, checking on work in progress and reviewing completed work to see that the supervisor's instructions on work priorities, methods, deadlines and quality have been met. You will prepare reports and maintain records of work accomplishments and administrative information, as required, and coordinate the preparation, presentation and communication of work-related information to the supervisor. You will research, learn and apply a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to identify, assesses, analyze and improve team effectiveness, efficiency and work products. You will assist the JDN Integrator (JDNI) and the Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) in identifying multi-tactical Data Link interoperability requirements. You will perform work that involves ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of C2 and Maritime Common Operational Picture (COP) systems, networks and data. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector evaluating IT security principles, methods, and tools to resolve critical problems in agency-wide systems and development of new approaches and techniques for the use by others on Maritime Operations Center (MOC) Theater and Fleet Command and Control (C2) systems. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
