
AKC is seeking a hands-on, self-starter who is passionate about SEO and content marketing. The SEO Manager will provide the strategy, technical expertise, and execution required to deliver strong search engine rankings for AKC's digital properties. The goal is to increase qualified search engine traffic, achieve visibility and referral traffic through LLMs, and lead generation. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in on-page SEO, experience in gathering information, prioritizing initiatives, collaborating with cross‑functional departments, and achieving results. Bonus points for a passion for all things dog.

Primary Job Duties include
Day-to-day execution of organic search engine optimization, including overall strategy, keyword research, competitive analyses, link building, penalty audits, and content optimization.
Manage most aspects of SEO projects, including kickoff, requirements, analysis, UAT, and launch.
Work closely and partner with internal and external teams, including content, ecommerce, digital product, web development, marketing, UX/UI.
Perform ongoing keyword research and competitive analysis.
Understand, recommend, and implement technical SEO audits and changes.
Provide on-page optimization recommendations for metadata, headings, internal links, and URLs.
Implement necessary features and changes to continue winning at SEO as search engine algorithms evolve.
Recommend additions to the content production calendar by contributing data-driven suggestions for topics/keywords and supporting the content team on SEO.
Devise and execute methods to track, report, analyze, and improve SEO performance.
Collaborate with in-house marketing teams on marketing priorities as they relate to SEO.
Present and communicate SEO strategies and projects to internal stakeholders.
Serve as the key SEO expert/advocate for the enterprise.
Keep up-to-date with all the latest SEO best practices, strategies, and algorithm changes.
Requires Skills, Specialized Knowledge and Competency Requirements The salary for this position in New York City is $95,000-$105,000/year; however salary offered may vary depending on skills
