Overview Country Club of Columbus, an exclusive 18-hole private golf facility, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Golf Professional. The Assistant Golf Professional will play a key role in supporting the Head Golf Professional in all aspects of the club's golf operations. This includes assisting with daily operations, member services, golf instruction, tournament management, and maintaining the high standards of excellence expected at our premier country club.

Job Summary: Assists Head Golf Professional with club and pro shop operations, teaching golf lessons, and organizing tournaments. Helping Head Professional with major member events at the club and heading other leagues and groups. Plays with members and guests and ensures that they feel welcome and enjoy themselves.

Essential Responsibilities

Golf Operations Support

Assist in overseeing day-to-day golf operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service for members and guests.

Manage tee time reservations, including member and guest play, tournament scheduling, and special events (knowledge of Jonas POS is a plus).

Ensure the golf course is prepared and ready for daily play, including monitoring course conditions and working with the golf course superintendent.

Help manage the golf shop, maintaining high standards of inventory, retail sales, and member service.

Assist with managing the pace of play and enforce course policies and etiquette.

Instruction and Player Development

Provide individual and group lessons to members of all skill levels.

Assist with clinics, junior programs, and golf schools to promote the growth of the game.

Offer golf swing analysis, and help members improve their game through regular feedback and practice drills.

Tournaments & Events

Assist with the planning, preparation, and execution of club tournaments, member events, and outings (knowledge of Golf Genius Tournament Management is a plus).

Work with the Head Golf Professional and event coordinators to ensure all events run smoothly and meet the expectations of members and guests.

Help manage scoring, pairings, and event logistics.

Member Services

Provide exceptional customer service to club members, answering questions about the course, tournaments, and pro shop offerings.

Build and maintain strong relationships with members, enhancing their overall experience at the club.

Assist with organizing member engagement activities such as golf socials, junior programs, and special events.

Administrative Duties

Assist with daily administrative tasks, including managing member records, tournament scheduling, and inventory management.

Support the Head Golf Professional with reports, financials, and other documentation as needed.

Professional Development

Participate in continuing education, training, and certification programs to stay current on golf instruction techniques and industry trends.

Represent the club at professional golf events and maintain PGA membership and/or certifications.

Experience Required

PGA or LPGA Apprentice or Class A Member status preferred, or working towards membership.

Previous experience in a golf professional or assistant role at a private club or resort is a plus.

Strong knowledge of golf operations, teaching methods, tournament management, and member services.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with members.

Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as required.

Passion for the game of golf and commitment to providing a high level of service to club members.

Essential Responsibilities

Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. (e.g., golf bags, tournament supplies).

Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time.
