Job Summary :
The
BSA Analyst, Senior
is responsible for the monitoring of bank wide financial activity to ensure the detection of suspicious activity and compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) related laws. The candidate must be able to perform analysis and conduct investigations to ensure compliance with BSA, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and the USA PATRIOT Act. The incumbent will use independent analysis to recognize compliance related solutions for the AML/CFT program. In addition, the candidate will assist the BSA Officer with implementing and tracking projects and training for the BSA department.
Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to:
Research and prepare Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) related documents; prepare a narrative summary of findings to report to the BSA Officer to review for e-filing within the required time frame. Review Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) daily and prepare for e-file within the required time frame. Monitor high risk, high cash volume customers/transactions to determine suspicious activity and assess risk. Perform customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) as needed, for depository customers. Maintain updated policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure compliance with BSA regulations including: customer and enhanced due diligence (CDD/EDD) requirements, CTRs, the maintenance of the records of monetary instruments sold for cash and fund transfers, the exemption of customers from CTRs, compliance with OFAC, handling of section 314(a) requests, adherence to the Customer Identification Program (CIP), and reporting of SARs. Complete various bank reports including but not limited to moderate and high-risk accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Analyze AML software alerts daily to detect and investigate potential suspicious activity, research accounts, coordinate with branch personnel and escalate any unresolved issues to management as necessary. Be knowledgeable of bank products, services, customers, geographic locations, and potential money laundering and terrorist financing risks associated with those activities. Keep abreast of new or changing regulatory requirements as they pertain to BSA, AML, and OFAC. Aid the BSA Officer in the following:
Managing BSA training and new employee training. Identify and assist with implementation of policy and procedural enhancements or changes as needed. Serve as a BSA compliance resource by answering procedural and documentation inquiries from other BSA Analysts and branch personnel regarding BSA/AML and OFAC compliance regulations. Aid and support during internal audits, including coordinating compliance review activities with third-party reviewers and regulatory exams. Ensuring that audit and regulatory examination findings are addressed and corrected in a timely manner.
Perform duties related to the Bank Secrecy Act under the guidance of the BSA Officer. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The associate is frequently required to sit and/or stand, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects, tools or controls that are typical of an office/bank environment. Lifting items weighing up to 10 pounds on a consistent basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 80% of the work period while operating equipment such as computers, phones, calculators, etc.
Working Conditions:
Typical office environment. Extended viewing of computer screens. Periodic travel between locations.
