
Job Description
Pay Range: $22.24hr - $24hr
Requirement/Must Have
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of 6 months of experience performing venipunctures in a fast‑paced lab or hospital setting.
Valid Phlebotomy certification as required by state regulations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience
Experience with blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, and sample processing.
Experience updating patient information and maintaining documentation.
2–4 years of related experience preferred.
Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and specimen collection using straight and butterfly needles.
Label, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens per test requirements.
Collect and store specimens in accordance with established procedures and protocols.
Match laboratory requisition forms with specimen tubes to ensure accuracy.
Verify all test requisitions and computer labels against scripts for correctness.
Properly explain procedures to patients clearly and courteously.
Store samples at required temperatures and prepare them for transport.
Record maintenance data and perform decontamination as needed.
Update patient information accurately.
Answer telephone calls and provide laboratory results when appropriate.
Attend required annual department trainings.
Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
