Key Responsibilities
Translate legal documents including letters, reports, website content, brochures, and correspondence, while preserving the original meaning, content, and tone.
Utilize cultural sensitivity to deliver clear and accurate translations.
Edit and proofread documents for accuracy, ensuring compliance with legal terminology.
Conduct quality edits when designated for review to maintain high standards.
Adhere to style guides, glossaries, and client preferences with diligence.
Uphold confidentiality and security of all translated materials.
Stay updated on legal terminology and industry best practices to enhance service quality.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support team objectives.
Qualifications - Here's What You Need High School Diploma or equivalent experience (4 years).
4+ years of experience in Vietnamese translation.
Certification in legal translation is required, including but not limited to: Legal Translation online certifications.
CTP (Certified Translation Professional).
ATA (American Translators Association).
AOC (Administrative Office of the Court).
Membership in NAJIT (National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators).
Experience in State Department, Refugees, and legal settings is highly desirable.
Familiarity with legal terminology and prior experience with publications preferred.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Minimum Skills Required: Strong problem-solving capabilities.
Exceptional written communication skills.
Prompt and effective responsiveness to client inquiries.
High motivation with an ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Aptitude for building relationships and collaborating effectively.
Ability to work both independently and as a collaborative team member.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in foreign language, linguistics, or a related field.
Reports to:
Program Manager Working Conditions This is an on-call position, with notification for potential jobs within a 48-hour window.
Legal translation services are required for Washington State.
Must be prepared physically and mentally for extended duties.
A flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, may be necessary.
