Job Summary The Laboratory Director is responsible for the
overall administrative, operational, and technical management
of the clinical laboratory. This role ensures
CLIA ’88 compliance , maintains
high-complexity testing standards , and leads
quality improvement initiatives
while overseeing laboratory staff and operations. Key Responsibilities Oversee
all daily laboratory operations (administrative, operational & technical) Ensure
CLIA ’88 regulatory compliance Supervise
20–25 FTEs across all shifts Maintain
high-complexity testing standards Oversee
microbiology and blood bank operations Lead
quality assurance & continuous improvement initiatives Manage laboratory
systems, equipment & technology Collaborate with
pathology and reference laboratories Systems & Technology LIS:
Epic Beaker Specimen Collection:
Epic Rover Chemistry:
Roche Cobas Pure integrated chemistry/immunoassay platform Hematology:
Sysmex analyzers Coagulation:
Siemens system Molecular Testing:
Cepheid GeneXpert Urinalysis:
Clinitek automated system Blood Bank:
Gel card-based testing Qualifications & Requirements Candidates must meet one of the following educational pathways: Bachelor’s degree AND 4 years of high-complexity laboratory training/experience Master’s degree AND 2 years of high-complexity laboratory training/experience MD/DO/PhD certified in Clinical Pathology Additionally: Minimum 5 years of clinical laboratory experience Minimum 3 years of microbiology and blood bank experience Must meet
CLIA ’88 supervisor requirements Certification as
Medical Technologist or Diplomate of Laboratory Management (ASCP, AMT, NCA, or equivalent) required
