What you will accomplish as a Territory Manager at TAPCO
The Territory Manager has a strong hunting mentality, always seeking opportunities to develop and build relationships with cities, counties, and law enforcement agencies. This role requires travel to meet with customers, conduct product demonstrations, attend training events, and represent the company at industry and association shows.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Build and maintain strong relationships with law enforcement agencies and key decision-makers (police chiefs, city officials, city project managers)
Identify and cultivate new sales opportunities and provide initial product demonstrations
Collaborate with our automated ticketing partner to close ASE programs
Conduct on-site product demonstrations
Develop and execute outbound strategies to acquire new customers through cold calling, outreach campaigns, and targeted lead generation
Work to grow and expand existing contracts and programs
Understand and navigate the government procurement process, including leveraging cooperative purchasing agreements and grants
Attend regional and national trade shows, expos, and industry events
Provide consultative support and product recommendations based on agency needs
Maintain accurate records of sales activity, customer interactions, and forecasts
Coordinate with one of our experienced inside sales representatives to collaboratively work the territory as effectively and efficiently as possible
Accurately forecast monthly, quarterly, and annual sales performance
Keep CRM pipeline actively up to date
Required Experience and Knowledge/ Skills/Ability 5+ years of government sales experience with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding quotas
Experience selling to state and local government, law enforcement, or similar markets preferred
Demonstrated expertise in solution selling and penetrating new markets
Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and presentation skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and remotely
Proficient in Salesforce (or similar CRM), Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities with urgency and focus
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
