PRIMARY PURPOSE OF YOUR ROLE The Development Specialist contributes to the Individual and Institutional Philanthropy teams’ revenue goal by providing key operational logistics execution and project administration working with development staff, donors, and key volunteers. This position also provides larger organization support to further organizational priorities in data integrity and monitoring giving. You will collaborate closely with the Individual and Institutional Philanthropy teams, Prospect Research, Finance, Information Services, Community Impact, and Marketing teams within Greater Twin Cities United Way.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES Administrative Support (40%) Responsible for administrative support for the Institutional Giving team Partner with the Administrative Assistant, Advancement to support frontline fundraisers by coordinating key administrative logistics execution and project administration working with development staff, donors, and key volunteers Anticipate and fulfill requests from staff for reports, materials, information, etc. and plan ahead to ensure materials and tools are current and available Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to tailor and coordinate donor correspondence by curating from existing content and working with frontline fundraisers to customize standard templates Support or lead the execution of projects, such as assisting with event support, donor mailings, and preparing materials for institutional fundraising Support in-person and virtual meetings using virtual meeting platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom Pull reports from CRM system to provide requested information Interface with other departments to ensure donor-related communications/activities are handled professionally, effectively, and in a timely manner Identify opportunities for greater efficiency, quality, effectiveness, etc.; and work with the team to prioritize opportunities and implement improvements Occasionally provide support for external donor meetings and events

Data Integrity (25%) Responsible for data management in CRM Work with teams to ensure exceptional data integrity of donor information Report data integrity issues. Assist with resolution when necessary

External Content Preparation (15%) Lead acknowledgment process for direct response donors Tailor external materials for donors by curating from existing content and working with development staff to customize standard templates Collaborate with Office Services to fulfill requests for printing and/or mailing donor correspondence

POSITION REQUIREMENTS Three-plus years of experience in fundraising or sales administration, relationship management, operations, or related role providing administrative and customer relationship skills. Bachelor’s Degree a plus but not required as equivalent work experience considered. Outstanding organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail with ability to follow through. Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement while executing standard processes. Proactive self-starter; proven ability to take initiative. Ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects with differing timelines. Communication and business writing skills and the ability to curate relevant information from existing content. Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook/email. Experience with remote working platforms such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams Accurate data reporting and administration with math acumen. Ability to balance multiple stakeholders through planning and aligning priorities. High sense of confidentiality. Good interpersonal skills and success working in a collaborative team environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to professionally represent the organization externally. Strong donor and stakeholder service orientation. Ability to work occasional early mornings or late evenings with notice.
