Required About the Role We are seeking an experienced
Staff Civil Designer
to join our team supporting a diverse portfolio of projects for
Piedmont Natural Gas
and
Florida City Gas . This is a hands-on, onsite role working as part of a multi-disciplinary project team delivering high-quality civil and pipeline design solutions. Note:

Office Locations: Atlanta, GA: 4004 Summit Blvd NE, Suite 1200, Atlanta, GA 30319 Charlotte, NC: 3545 Whitehall Park Drive, Suite 400, Charlotte, NC 28273 What You’ll Do As a Staff Civil Designer, you’ll be responsible for supporting all phases of civil design and documentation, including: Designing civil engineering projects such as utilities and pipeline systems, site development, land development, storm drainage and stormwater management, access roads (temporary and permanent), water and sanitary sewer utilities, sediment & erosion control, and traffic control Preparing design layouts, calculations, and drawings for complex, non-routine assignments Analyzing reports, maps, drawings, and geologic/topographic data to support design decisions Producing and revising construction, permitting, and environmental plans Performing volume calculations for excavation, dredging, and site grading Reviewing drawings for quality, accuracy, budget, and schedule compliance Managing revisions, plot files, and project documentation in an organized manner Collaborating closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers across multiple offices Applying design codes, standards, and specifications consistently Supporting schedules, budgets, and project criteria throughout the design process Performing additional duties as assigned while complying with company policies and standards What We’re Looking For Education & Experience (one of the following required): Bachelor’s degree in Drafting Technology or related field +

of experience Associate degree +
8+ years
of related experience High School diploma +
9+ years
of progressive civil design experience Technical Skills: Expert-level proficiency in
AutoCAD ,
Civil 3D , and
Excel MicroStation
experience is a plus Strong understanding of civil design theory, calculations, and design systems Ability to work across disciplines and understand related engineering concepts Professional Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills Excellent written and verbal communication Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines Collaborative mindset and experience working in multi-discipline project teams
