Job Description
We are looking to hire a talented Oracle database administrator to manage our customer's Oracle database system. You will be required to install and maintain the database software, create storage structures, set up user accounts, debug malfunctioning programs, create backups, and regularly maintain the database security. To ensure success as an Oracle database administrator, you should have extensive experience with DBA front-end and back-end tools, excellent problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience with Oracle database management. Ultimately, as a top-level Oracle DBA you will expertly manage our customer's database system to maximize performance, security, and availability.
Responsibilities: • Installing and maintaining the Oracle 19c database software • Oracle RAC deployment, patching, and administration • Configuration, deployment, and management of Oracle Data Guard • Creating storage database structures with high-level security features • Altering storage structures to meet the evolving needs of the company • Setting up database user accounts • Training users on how to access the information in the database • Finding and debugging malfunctioning programs affecting the database integrity • Creating autonomous database backups • Regularly updating the database security protocols
Required Qualifications It is required that the Oracle Database Administrator have the following qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or computer science, and nine (9) years or more experience. However, four (4) additional years of experience may be considered, in lieu of a degree • Proven work experience as a Database administrator • Proficient in Oracle 19c database architecture, coding, and documentation • Oracle RAC experience • Knowledge of database backup procedures, recovery systems, and SQL • Experience with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Desired Skills: • Certification in Oracle database administration, highly desired • Knowledge of programming languages and API
