Dayton, OH, 45377 What you will be doing: Provide labor, material, and equipment cost estimates for excavating, utility, and related projects. Secure contracts, write purchase orders, review submittals and develop project budgets. Communicate the budgetary guidelines for awarded projects to the Excavating Department Project and Operations Managers. Perform detailed utility take-offs to determine material quantities. Perform earthwork take-offs to determine soil quantities, using Trimble Business Center. Solicit pricing for required materials from qualified vendors and for work outside of the company's scope of ability from qualified subcontractors. Prepare cost estimates, bid proposals, budgets for secured projects, subcontracts, and purchase orders. Assist with the daily responsibilities of the Project Manager as needed. Experience you will need: 10+ years of experience estimating projects in the excavating industry. Thorough knowledge of Trimble Business Center earthwork estimating and GPS site management software. Thorough knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid bidding and Heavy Job project management software. Strong analytic and math skills, and detail oriented. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and other industry-related programs. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
