Role Summary
The Ocean Import Coordinator will support ocean import logistics operations for international freight forwarding. Key Responsibilities
Prepare, verify, and process ocean import documentation including bills of lading, arrival notices, commercial invoices, packing lists, and related paperwork. Coordinate with overseas agents, ocean carriers, customs brokers, terminals, and trucking providers to ensure timely movement of imported cargo. Track inbound ocean shipments and proactively report status, exceptions, and delivery updates to internal teams and clients. Enter and maintain accurate shipment data in Transportation Management Systems and internal tracking platforms. Assist with customs entry preparation and compliance support under supervision of licensed brokers or senior staff. Support billing, invoicing, and reconciliation of vendor or carrier charges where required. Respond to basic customer inquiries and support internal stakeholders with operational tasks.
Typical Qualifications
High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.
