Director of Civil Engineering

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and expand the civil engineering practice with a focus on municipal engineering, site design, and other integrated services.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to establish and execute strategic initiatives, ensuring balanced workloads and exploring new business opportunities.
• Foster a culture of trust, excellence, and collaboration, aligning with the organization's core values.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality projects that meet or exceed client expectations.
• Participate in projects as a project manager or technical expert, maintaining a reasonable level of billable utilization on major projects.
• Enhance internal operations and systems to improve efficiency, quality, and innovation.
• Oversee financial performance, focusing on revenue growth and bottom-line results.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of urban planners, designers, and support staff.
• Engage in activities to secure grants and technical assistance for clients and partners.
• Represent the firm at industry events to gather insights and develop business pipelines.
• Participate in professional associations, contribute to industry knowledge through publications, and pursue further professional qualifications.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in civil engineering, especially in transportation-related projects, with a minimum of 10 years of experience (PE preferred).
• At least 4 years of managerial experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
• Experience with design submittals, approvals, and working with various agencies.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• Willingness to travel occasionally, not exceeding once per month.
• Strong business development acumen and a desire to enhance executive skills.
