The Packaging Lead plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of our team and production processes. This position requires a high level of technical expertise and hands-on experience in the cannabis industry. This position is responsible for executing various tasks, while adhering to strict compliance regulations and maintaining a safe working environment for the team. The Packaging Lead contributes significantly to our commitment to producing top-quality cannabis products and is expected to lead by example and build a culture of respect and discipline among peers.


Scheduled shifts are Sunday through Wednesday and Wednesday through Saturday 6am - 5pm.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


  • Oversee compliance with quality standards and safety protocols across cannabis packaging processes.
  • Lead process improvements, identify inefficiencies, and implement enhancements.
  • Coordinate the cannabis workflow and task assignment for assembly line workers.
  • Audit logs for accuracy, ensure timely data collection, and report inconsistencies.
  • Train and develop Technician I, II, and III, focusing on cross-training and skill improvement.
  • Overseeing the design of labels, ensuring they meet state mandated regulatory standards, and coordinating with Tech II and III for accurate label production.
  • Communicates and escalates issues according to the established escalation process, ensuring proper handling and timely resolution.
  • Facilitates the development of Technicians I, II, and III by coordinating advanced training sessions, monitoring progress, and ensuring consistent application of packaging techniques across the team.
  • Maintain inventory, order supplies, and manage scheduling when necessary.
  • Serve as the department managers representative in their absence.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Holds leadership responsibility over all cannabis packaging operations, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Focus on strategic cannabis improvements, state mandated compliance, and team development.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of safety methods and hazard regulations.
  • At least 1 year of experience in the cannabis industry, preferred focus on packaging processing techniques.
  • Strong understanding of cannabis cultivation, manufacturing and packaging procedures.
  • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for quality control and compliance with regulations.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to train and coach team members effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capability to lead by example in fostering a positive work culture.
  • Positive attitude and ability to communicate quickly and efficiently.
  • Proficient use of calendar and information sharing apps such as Monday.com, Microsoft Teams, etc.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age (as per legal requirements).
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Must be able to obtain a state medical marijuana badge and pass a background check.
