Sales Counter Associate

Job Overview / Description:

Assisting walk-in customers with product needs and questions. Processing cash and charge sales for material pick up. Answering general phone calls and e-mails. Utilize the showroom to help customers make product selections. This role is vital due to the first impression our customer receives when coming to Allegheny Millwork & Lumber.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Answering general phone calls and e-mails
• Processing cash and charge sales for walk-in traffic
• Scheduling deliveries
• Special order processing
• Always prospect for new business opportunities
• Continue to expand on product knowledge
• Stocking shelves and maintaining the showroom

Qualifications / Skills

• General knowledge of construction and /or building supply industry
• Familiarity with POS (point of sale) systems and the ability to learn new technologies
• Excellent communication skills
• Cheerful working attitude
• Outstanding customer service skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule
• Ability to upsell
• Ability to stand most of the day and lift 50lb.
