
Norfolk Collegiate School is seeking a Director of Libraries and Innovation to provide strategic vision for the school's PK-12 innovation, library, and technology programs. This is an 11-month position that reports to the Assistant Head for Academics. This leader serves as the bridge between information literacy, digital fluency, and design thinking, ensuring that the school's resources evolve to meet the needs of our students and academic priorities. By unifying library services, research initiatives, and maker education, the Director fosters a culture of inquiry, creativity, and ethical technology use across all divisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Align library services, educational technology, and innovation spaces with the school's mission to create a cohesive PK-12 program
Collaborate with faculty to integrate design thinking, research methodologies, and digital tools into the core curriculum
Oversee the evolution of library operations, ensuring collections and databases support diverse student interests and rigorous academic research
Evaluate and implement educational technologies and maximize the impact of makerlabs/innovation spaces on student learning
Lead the development of a PK-12 framework for information literacy, digital citizenship, and ethical research practices
Stay informed about emerging trends in AI, educational innovation, and library science to serve as a thought leader and resource for faculty
Teach one to two classes in the area of expertise
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in education, library & information science, educational technology, or a related field
Leadership experience in a school setting
Proficiency with library databases and common makerspace technologies
