Operations Director In-Office (Local or Relocation Required) | Hybrid Option After Training Location:

In-office (local candidates preferred or willingness to relocate). Hybrid schedule available up to two remote days per week following the initial training and onboarding period.

Experience:

5+ years of leadership experience required. Financial services and/or Ameriprise experience strongly preferred.

Compensation:

$110,000–$135,000 (commensurate with experience and background)

About the Role We are a growing wealth management practice seeking an experienced and strategic

Operations Director

to lead the operational, people, and financial functions of the firm. This role serves as a senior leader within the practice — responsible for driving operational excellence, developing team members, managing budgets, and creating scalable systems that support long-term growth.

The Operations Director will partner closely with advisors and leadership to ensure the business runs efficiently while fostering a strong culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate is a proven leader who thrives in building structure, developing people, and overseeing complex operations in a fast-paced professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring efficient workflows and consistent execution

Oversee HR functions including hiring support, team development, performance management, and regular one-on-ones

Drive accountability, culture, and professional growth across the team

Manage budgeting, expense oversight, and financial operational planning

Build strong internal and external relationships to support business growth

Identify and implement operational improvements, systems, and best practices

Partner with leadership on strategic initiatives and long-term business planning

Ensure professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance across operations

Qualifications

5+ years of leadership experience required

Strong people management and organizational leadership skills

Experience overseeing operations, budgets, and business processes

Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of execution

Exceptional communication, accountability, and relationship-building skills

Preferred (not required)

Previous advisor experience or background in financial services, Ameriprise, banking, insurance, or related professional industries preferred

Direct exposure to wealth management or financial planning environments

Education (Preferred but Not Required)

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, management, or a related field

Equivalent professional experience will be considered in place of formal education
