Portfolio Management Specialist GGL (Government Guaranteed Lending)
This is an onsite assignment based in our San Antonio office.
Summary The Loan Servicing Specialist for SBA Loan Operations is the SBA Closer and responsible for preparing, reviewing, and finalizing loan closing documentation for Small Business Administration (SBA) loans. This role collaborates with internal departments, third‑party vendors, and borrowers to maintain data integrity and resolve escalated issues, to ensure full compliance with SBA guidelines, internal policies, and applicable regulations.

Monitor and maintain the overall loan portfolio processes, procedures, and practice to support Team
Work on specific projects including portfolio reviews, updating of credit processes within the portfolio, risk rating policy, order site inspections, prepare litigation plan, CPC, UPP, Wrap‑Up Reports, 1502 reporting, etc.
Review, analyze, and consolidate market, industry, and risk analyses and data to develop SBA loan portfolios in the expertise industry and segment.
Assess and review SBA loan portfolios, measurement indexes, and provide inputs in the expertise industry and segment.
Interface with origination and product specialists to review credit strategy and develop proactive plans for all assigned portfolios.
Independently analyze and evaluate the risks in the segment, conduct the risk selection, oversee the risk of individual loans, control the quality of loan approvals, and administer the performance of loan continues.
Assess and minimize risks on more complex SBA loans by following operational standard procedures, identifying suspicious/inconsistent activities, notifying appropriate parties, and taking appropriate actions.
Measure credit risks, portfolio stress tests, and analyze collaterals as applicable to loan structure and terms.
Drive loan terminations, securing internal/external parties' understanding, compliance, and completion.
Prepare regular reports and make appropriate recommendations.
Assist to coach staff and help identifying problems and issues, managing risks.
Successfully complete all mandatory training on related Bank's and BSA compliance as well as other laws and regulations as assigned and in a timely manner.

Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Required Knowledge/Skills:
Minimum 8 years of experience in Loan Processing and Servicing with a focus on SBA
Strong understanding of SBA 7(a) and 504 loan programs and a proven track record in loan closings.
Experience with commercial loan documentation.
8+ years of experience in dealing with SBA loans is preferred.
Ability to analyze, underwrite, and administer SBA loan portfolios.
Strong credit and financial analyzing, underwriting, sales, customer service, and communication skills.
Working knowledge of commercial and industrial lending guidelines and production, all applicable State and Federal regulations.
Ability to analyze and consolidate data to develop SBA loan portfolio processes, procedures, and to implement practices.
Proficiency in loan servicing software and MS Office.
Familiarity with legal documents (promissory notes, guarantees, security agreements).
Advanced knowledge of loan servicing systems and regulatory requirements.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
