About the Role Our client is seeking a strategic, forward‑thinking Director of Accounting to lead the day‑to‑day accounting operations while driving process improvements, enhancing internal controls, and strengthening financial reporting. In this highly visible role, you’ll collaborate closely with executive leadership, guide a talented accounting team, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across the organization.
What You’ll Do
Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, month‑end/quarter‑end close, AP/AR, and financial reporting
Lead the development, maintenance, and enforcement of strong internal controls
Ensure GAAP compliance across all accounting policies and practices
Prepare, review, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Identify opportunities to streamline processes, automate workflows, and improve reporting efficiency
Lead and mentor the accounting team to support professional growth and high‑quality deliverables
Partner with executive leadership on financial strategy, planning, and key decision‑making
Manage audit activities and serve as the main point of contact for external auditors
Support system enhancements, integrations, and accounting technology upgrades
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA strongly preferred
8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities
Strong technical accounting background with deep understanding of GAAP
Proven experience leading teams, improving processes, and elevating accounting functions
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to simplify complex financial information
Experience with system implementations or accounting technology upgrades is a plus
