That’s where our story begins. Capital Markets Analyst Department: Capital Markets / Finance Reports To: VP of FP&A Role Summary
The Capital Markets Analyst is an entry-level role focused on data management, reporting, and administrative support for the firm\'s loan sale operations. Working under direct supervision, this role helps prepare loan packages for sale, maintain data accuracy, tracks execution workflows, and supports basic reporting needs. This position requires solid Excel skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced lending environment. Key Responsibilities
Data Preparation & Quality Control
Gather and organize loan data for potential sales and financing, including: Whole Loan Sales Fractional sales / leveraged participation Hold vs sell
recommendations based on capital efficiency Prepare loan tapes and data files for senior team review Run data quality checks and flag inconsistencies Track execution outcomes and time by partner
Pricing, Profitability & Capital Efficiency Analytics
Maintain recurring reports and pipeline inventory and sale-ready loans Pull data and create summaries to support senior team analysis
Assist In Analyzing
Gain-on-sale and margin impacts Liquidity and velocity considerations Concentration and risk constraints Capital recycling and funding capacity
Loan Tape & Collateral Package Preparation
Prepare loan tapes and collateral summaries for investors and partners
Verify Loan Data Accuracy Across Key Fields Such As
Product type, rate, term, lien position LTV/LTC/ARV and DSCR (where applicable) Geography, property type, borrower concentration Status milestones (funded, cleared for sale, payoff risk, extensions) Identify common data errors/bottlenecks and provide suggestions for improvement
Transaction Support & Operational Coordination
Support Daily Operation Workflow Including Bid tracking and comparisons Due diligence requests and data pulls Settlement tracking and status updates Coordinate with internal teams (Sales, Underwriting, Closing, Servicing, Accounting) to escalate data issues quickly and keep execution timelines on track
Process Improvement
Identify recurring bottlenecks, data gaps, and execution inefficiencies Develop understanding of loan sale processes and capital markets operations Support standardization of templates, reporting formats, and process documentation Ask questions and seek feedback to expedite the learning curve
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field (required) 0–2 years of experience in financial analysis, lending, capital markets, private credit, banking, or a similar analytical role Solid proficiency in
Excel
(pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, data validation; comfort working with large datasets) Strong attention to detail Eagerness to learn and grow in capital markets and lending operations
