Job Description:

The Loan Servicing Operations Accountant will support the full lifecycle of commercial and private credit loans. This role blends operational loan servicing with accounting responsibilities and offers flexibility in leveling (Associate through SVP) based on experience. The team is open to candidates with strong loan operations backgrounds who are looking to deepen their accounting expertise. This individual will play a key role in maintaining loan records, processing transactions, supporting reporting requirements, and ensuring accuracy across systems and financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up newly originated loans within servicing systems and ensure accurate data capture

Maintain detailed loan records, including balances, interest accruals, and payment activity

Manage borrower invoicing, payment processing, and cash application

Track loan funding activity, paydowns, and reconciliations

Prepare and review amortization schedules and interest calculations

Post and review journal entries related to loan transactions (preferred)

Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

Produce portfolio-level reporting for internal stakeholders

Review loan documentation to ensure compliance with deal terms

Respond to ad hoc reporting and analysis requests

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or another business-related field

Minimum of 2+ years of experience in loan operations or loan servicing

Direct exposure to one or more of the following loan types:

Middle market lending

Private credit

Commercial & industrial (C&I) lending

Syndicated loans, assignments, or participations

Experience working within a loan servicing or loan boarding system

Strong Excel skills

Experience with loan-related journal entries is a plus

Familiarity with secured or commercial lending structures preferred
