Hotel Management & Consulting is seeking an HR Specialist to join our growing HR team! This role will serve as a key partner in employee relations and compliance across the organization. The HR Specialist will lead and support employee relations matters including workplace investigations, corrective action review, employee complaints, internal reporting hotline cases, and manager guidance and training. This position will also oversee workers’ compensation claims, administer leave of absence programs (including FMLA and state specific leaves), manage workplace accommodations, and support HR leadership in legal and compliance matters. The ideal candidate is confident handling sensitive employee matters, conducting investigations, interpreting employment laws, and partnering with leadership to ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes. Employee Relations: Lead and support workplace investigations, including employee complaints, policy violations, and Ethics Point hotline submissions; document findings, recommend corrective actions, and ensure timely resolution. Review, coach, and guide managers on corrective actions to ensure consistency, fairness, and compliance with company policy and employment law. Maintain tracking systems for investigations, corrective actions, employee complaints, leave cases, and accommodation matters. Serve as a resource to managers on performance management, employee conduct, disciplinary processes, and documentation of best practices. Assist managers with reasonable suspicion of drug and alcohol screenings in accordance with company policy and state and federal regulations. Provide training to managers on employee relation best practices, documentation standards, and risk mitigation. Partner with HR leadership to identify trends in employee relations matters and recommend proactive solutions. Compliance & Legal: Support VP of HR with legal inquiries, EEOC charges, wage claims, unemployment hearings, and other employment related legal matters, including gathering documentation, preparing case files, interviewing witnesses, and coordinating meetings. Assist in responding to agency claims and attorney requests in a timely and organized manner. Maintain and monitor the HR compliance calendar to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local reporting deadlines. Track and update state-specific employment law requirements as regulations change. Partner with HR leadership to mitigate risk and ensure consistent application of company policies. Workers’ Compensation, Leave of Absence & Accommodations

Administer workers’ compensation claims from initial report through closure, including carrier coordination, documentation, payroll notifications, and return to work follow-up. Manage leave of absence programs including FMLA, ADA, state specific medical leaves, and company leave policies. Coordinate the interactive process for workplace accommodations (leave and non-leave), ensuring compliance with ADA and applicable regulations. Maintain confidential records for medical, leave, and accommodation cases and ensure accurate status updates within the HRIS and payroll systems. Partner with managers to support return to work plans, transitional duty assignments, and compliance with medical restrictions. Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 2–4 years of HR experience, preferably in employee relations, compliance, or leave administration. Strong knowledge of employment laws (Workers’ Compensation, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, wage/hour, state-specific laws). Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with HRIS systems preferred. Physical Requirements

Frequently required to sit, stand, talk and hear. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
