AutoCAD Designer

with experience in electrical or low-voltage systems? Do you enjoy turning field concepts and specifications into clean, accurate construction drawings?

Flex Tech is seeking a skilled

AutoCAD Designer

to support commercial electrical and technology system projects throughout the

Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex .

This role plays a key part in developing coordinated construction drawings, submittals, and documentation for projects including structured cabling, access control, fire alarm, AV, and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

Create and modify AutoCAD drawings for:

Electrical systems

Structured cabling

Fiber optic infrastructure

Access control and CCTV systems

Fire alarm systems

Audio-Visual systems

Develop floor plans, riser diagrams, device layouts, and detail drawings

Coordinate drawings with architectural, mechanical, and structural plans

Prepare submittals and as-built documentation

Review field markups and incorporate revisions

Maintain organized drawing sets and version control

Assist with permit documentation and AHJ submittals when required

Support project managers and field teams with technical drawing updates

Ensure drawings comply with NEC, NFPA, and local code requirements

Required Qualifications

Minimum

2+ years of AutoCAD drafting experience

Experience drafting electrical or low-voltage systems preferred

Proficiency in

AutoCAD

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications

Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy

Understanding of construction documentation standards

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Valid driver’s license (if site visits are required)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with

Revit or BIM software

Knowledge of:

NEC

NFPA 72

Low-voltage system standards

Experience preparing fire alarm or access control submittals

Construction or field experience (helpful but not required)

Work Environment

Primarily office-based in the DFW area

Occasional jobsite visits may be required

Collaborative, fast-paced project environment
