
This position offers bonus potential based on performance in addition to the base salary . Duties include marketing and promoting the City of Irving as a destination for the Corporate Market, serving as one of the CVB’s chief liaison to targeted organizations; establishing relationships with key officials and decision-makers; managing, coordinating and facilitating sales efforts; participating in sales calls; working with Irving hotels, The Toyota Music Factory and the Irving Convention Center to sell the destination; and planning and implementing familiarization tours and site inspections for customers. Duties also include assisting with the preparation and administration of the departmental budget; tracking and maintaining account activity and customer lead database records; and preparing detailed reports. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in marketing, hospitality industry sales or a related field, and five years of direct sales experience in CVB’s or full service hotels are required. Prior experience in the corporate market is preferred. Must have knowledge of and experience with word processing and spreadsheet applications; MS Word and Excel preferred. Knowledge of and experience with CVB software, such as Simpleview, desirable. Must be able to travel and have, or be able to obtain, an appropriate Texas driver’s license. Industry specific certifications are preferred. Hours are 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, and will include some evenings and weekends.

The strength of the visitor industry and the city's hotel tax collections also provide the funding resources for the Irving Arts Center and the Preservation and Redevelopment Program.
