Job Description The
Digital Asset Manager
is a key member of the Marketing Operations team responsible for implementing, administering, and continuously optimizing ALSAC’s Enterprise Digital Asset Management (DAM) system. This role ensures digital marketing and media assets are efficiently organized, easily discoverable, compliant, and strategically leveraged. By overseeing metadata standards, workflow design, user adoption, and data‑driven insights, the Digital Asset Manager enables stronger creative governance, improved cross‑channel visibility, and content performance insights that support personalization and enterprise marketing goals.
Essential Job Functions Day‑to‑Day System Administration
Administers and maintains the DAM platform, performing updates, configurations, and platform optimizations.
Troubleshoots user issues and partners with ITS Product teams for escalations and technical enhancements.
Oversees ongoing asset ingestion and organization, ensuring duplicates, non‑compliant assets, and obsolete content are deprecated appropriately.
Manages user permissions, access controls, and asset security.
Metadata & Taxonomy Management
Maintains and enforces metadata, taxonomy, and controlled vocabulary standards to drive consistent asset structure.
Develops and leads DAM governance strategies aligned with enterprise content management objectives.
Conducts data quality checks to maintain metadata accuracy and consistency, identifying areas for improvement.
Reviews, evaluates, and validates AI‑generated tags to ensure relevance and accuracy.
Workflow Optimization
Designs and refines workflows for the end‑to‑end asset lifecycle, including ingestion, tagging, rights management, version control, delivery, expiration, and archiving.
Continuously monitors workflow efficiency and identifies opportunities to streamline processes and improve user experience.
Reporting & Analytics
Builds and maintains analytics dashboards and reporting to track asset usage, discoverability, creative reuse, and distribution trends.
Provides insights and recommendations that guide content strategy, marketing activation, and operational decision‑making.
Training & Communications
Creates training materials, documentation, and best‑practice guidance to support end users, creators, and partners.
Leads training sessions and onboarding for new users to ensure consistent and effective use of the DAM.
Communicates updates, governance guidelines, system enhancements, and workflow changes clearly and proactively.
Platform Adoption & Evolution
Collaborates with cross‑functional teams—including marketing, ITS, creative, and content production—to ensure the DAM continues to evolve with organizational needs.
Evaluates emerging technologies, integrations, and AI/ML enhancements that strengthen DAM capabilities.
Acts as a subject‑matter expert on how DAM supports personalization, omnichannel content strategy, and creative operations.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Digital Media, Marketing Operations, Library Science, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in Digital Asset Management, content operations, marketing technology, or similar roles.
Hands‑on experience with DAM platforms, metadata structures, and asset lifecycle processes.
Strong understanding of metadata, taxonomy development, and controlled vocabularies.
Proven technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn new technologies and integrations.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and critical‑thinking skills.
Interest or experience in utilizing AI/ML tools within DAM environments.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated success working in a matrixed, cross‑functional environment.
