OVERVIEW Smarty Social is a social-first marketing agency serving healthcare, medical device, life sciences, and technology brands. Headquartered in Orange County, CA, we operate with a distributed team coast to coast in a flexible work environment. In addition to our agency work, Smarty is home to The Social Space, a content studio and event venue designed to bring brands, creators, and executives together for production, collaboration, and community-building.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Marketing Coordinator to support and execute our internal marketing initiatives across key channels. This role is hands‑on and execution‑focused, with a strong emphasis on social media content creation, design, copywriting, publishing, and marketing operations.

The Marketing Coordinator will play a key role in driving agency visibility and brand growth through social media, conferences, sponsorships, awards, website management, SEO optimization, and newsletter development. This role also supports marketing for The Social Space, Smarty’s in‑house content studio and event venue.

Location: Hybrid with 3–4 days per week in office Orange County, California

Salary Range: $30–40 per hour (annual equivalent based on experience)

The Marketing Coordinator ensures our marketing engine runs efficiently and consistently across channels. From social publishing to SEO optimization to event support, this role helps maintain a polished, professional, and high-performing brand presence that reflects the quality of our client work.

WHAT YOU’LL DO Social Media & Content Execution

Execute day-to-day management of agency social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok)

Write engaging social copy aligned with brand voice and campaign objectives

Design social graphics and layouts using Canva while maintaining organized templates and brand assets

Schedule and publish content across platforms, ensuring accuracy and consistency

Monitor platform analytics and report on core performance metrics

Website, Blog & SEO Management

Manage and update the Smarty website

Upload and format blog content, design supporting visuals, and optimize for performance and SEO

Continuously optimize SEO for Smarty and The Social Space

Monitor and report on Google Analytics performance

Events, Awards & Sponsorship Support

Support conference marketing efforts including materials coordination, logistics, sponsorship deliverables, and on‑site social coverage as needed

Assist with award submissions, including drafting entries, gathering materials, managing deadlines, and tracking outcomes

Support sponsorship initiatives and promotional visibility efforts

Marketing Operations & Internal Initiatives

Develop and execute Smarty’s monthly newsletter including content planning, copywriting, and design

Maintain organized marketing calendars, asset libraries, and submission trackers

Support development of marketing collateral and promotional materials

Support quarterly NPS survey execution

Lead coordination of client testimonials and case studies in partnership with Client Services

Assist in marketing support, showings, and content capture for The Social Space events and activations

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field

Minimum of 2 years of marketing experience with strong emphasis on social media

Experience managing social media platforms required

Proficiency in Canva required

Strong copywriting skills with ability to adapt tone across platforms

Experience publishing and scheduling content across multiple platforms

Basic understanding of SEO and website publishing

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously

Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills

Willingness to travel for client events and production as needed

Hybrid with 3-4 days in the office, with availability during Pacific Time business hours
