The Senior Trade Compliance Manager is responsible to develop a trade compliance program that ensures the company adheres to international trade laws and regulations, including U.S. import regulations with CBP and export control compliance with BIS, and other government agencies.
Remote position with candidates in San Francisco Bay or Fort Lauderdale area preferred.
EXPECTATIONS
Implement trade compliance program for import regulations and export controls
Develop and maintain internal compliance policies, procedures, and training materials
Conduct risk assessment to identify compliance gaps and develop mitigation strategies
Create and deliver training programs for employees on trade compliance policies and procedures
Monitor changes in customs and trade regulations to assess business impact
Manage product and technology HTS/ECCN classification, valuation, country of origin
Review and maintain accurate records related to all import and export transactions
Respond to government agencies’ inquiries related to the export or imports activity
Establish awareness and ownership of trade compliance program with internal teams
Provide trade compliance guidance on mergers and acquisitions
Deliver clear and concise communication with confidence to internal and external partners
ESSENTIALS
10+ years of experience in export and import compliance
Bachelor’s degree is required, a law degree is preferred
Strong understanding of import regulations HTS classification, COO, and Valuation, etc.
In depth knowledge of software and technology industry
Experience leading audit, risk assessment, and corrective action plans
Excellent communication skills with attention to detail
Effective collaboration and independent decision-making skills
