About the Role As part of the Lifestyle Marketing team, this role is instrumental in building social media excellence across the enterprise. You will define the vision, build and manage a high‑performing team, and oversee content strategy and community engagement from planning through execution. You will also analyze performance metrics to continuously optimize impact and effectiveness.
In addition, you will champion global best practices, establish social governance frameworks, develop platform‑specific playbooks, and drive ongoing education across teams. This role is critical in ensuring impactful, consistent, and engaging social media presence on a global scale.
Brands within the portfolio include AKG, BSS, Crown, FLUX, JBL Professional, Soundcraft, Martin Lighting, and others. This role reports to the Social Media Director, Lifestyle.
You will have one direct report: 1 x Specialist, Social Media Professional Solutions. Along with the direct report, you will manage agency partners to support work output, and work in collaboration with other global and regional HARMAN teams and across functions.
What You Will Do
Lead Global Social Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned to business priorities, balancing global consistency with regional flexibility.
Drive Organizational Excellence: Establish governance frameworks, best practices, and capability roadmaps to elevate social media maturity across markets.
Build & Lead High‑Performing Teams: Mentor and guide global, regional, and local social teams to deliver impactful, on‑brand execution.
Oversee Content & Community Growth: Direct global content strategy, community engagement, and brand advocacy across platforms.
Leverage Analytics for Impact: Implement standardized performance frameworks to measure results, generate insights, and optimize ROI.
Champion Innovation & Influence: Advocate for social’s role in driving business growth, manage budgets effectively, and lead crisis communication protocols to protect brand reputation.
What You Need to Be Successful
Experience: 8+ years in social media marketing, including 5+ years in a leadership role managing teams and/or external partners.
Platform & Trend Expertise: Deep knowledge of major social platforms, emerging trends, best practices, and performance measurement.
Strategic & Creative Thinking: Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, impactful social strategies and campaigns.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to collaborate cross‑functionally, influence stakeholders, and foster a positive, high‑performing environment.
Analytical & Performance‑Driven: Strong data interpretation skills to identify trends, optimize performance, and drive measurable results.
Operational Excellence: Experience managing social media budgets, allocating resources effectively, and navigating fast‑paced, evolving priorities with strong communication and presentation skills.
What Makes You Eligible
Willing to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.
Willing to work from a home office located in Stamford, CT, or Northridge, CA.
Successfully complete background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.
