Job Summary At Prevea Health the Scanning Specialist plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of Prevea's Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. This position is responsible for reviewing and accurately scanning incoming documents from clinic locations, ensuring they are properly linked within EpicCare to the appropriate patient record, encounter, or order. The Scanning Specialist supports the delivery of high-quality patient care by ensuring providers and staff have timely access to critical patient information. What You Will Do Operating and maintaining scanning equipment to capture high-quality digital images. Reviewing documents for clarity and legibility before scanning. Indexing and categorizing scanned documents for easy retrieval. Verifying accuracy of scanned documents, ensuring that they match original hard copy. Performing quality checks on scanned images, re-scanning if necessary Resolving problems related to document scanning, including troubleshooting equipment issues Adhering to the company's document management procedures and regulations Maintaining a record of scanned documents Ensuring the confidentiality and security of all documents Education Qualifications High School Diploma and/or GED Required Experience Qualifications 1-3 years experience in a healthcare environment Preferred Skills and Abilities Willingness to learn new roles within scope of practice. Demonstrates ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships. Demonstrates organizational skills that allow timely patient appointments and appropriate required follow up. Presents a courteous and service oriented image through positive and helpful interaction with patients and families, physicians and co-workers. Participates in community activities. Understanding of Medical Terminology. Exceptional customer retention skills. Proficiency in PC skills. Possesses critical thinking and problem solving skills.
