Overview
The Arc of New Mexico has served people with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1955 and is committed to promoting and protecting their human rights.
The organization serves over 1,000 individuals annually with a revenue budget of $2.2 million and 22 employees. It provides decision‑making support, financial management, and long‑term planning services such as guardianship, representative payee services, and special‑needs trusts, while also advocating for policies and legislation that protect and advance rights.
Responsibilities
- Provide inspirational, action‑oriented leadership and execute the organization’s strategic vision.
- Oversee administration, programs, public policy and advocacy, and strategic planning.
- Administer board support, develop and sustain financial strength, and enhance organizational operations including infrastructure, human resources, and program effectiveness.
- Optimize external and internal communications and build partnerships.
- Ensure accountability to diverse constituents and report directly to the Board of Directors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, organizational management, public administration, business administration, social work, public law, or equivalent experience.
- Proven fundraising success and strong knowledge of disability communities and New Mexico systems.
- Servant‑leadership style with creative, future‑focused leadership experience to guide growth.
- Strong communication and partnership‑building skills.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $150,000 – $175,000 (commensurate with background and experience). The Arc provides health plan, disability and life insurance, IRA contributions, and optional vision and dental plans.
Location & Travel
Office in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Up to 25 % travel, primarily in‑state.
