POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director of Digital Strategy will play a crucial role in leading the vision, development, and monetization of our podcast and digital-original video series portfolio. This strategic leader will collaborate with content creators, build a scalable business model, cultivate talent partnerships, and drive revenue growth across the network. With a deep understanding of podcast and digital media trends, the Director will ensure the company remains a front-runner in the creator economy and entertainment landscape.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES or KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with creative leads and production teams to shape the development and execution of video podcasts and digital-original series, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and audience expectations
- Supervise editorial direction, tone, and production standards
- Collaborate with producers and hosts to ensure quality and innovation
Business Building
- Design and implement a scalable business model for the podcast network Digital series
- Own the digital P&L, programming volume, talent model, and production workflow
- Determine best distribution model for podcasts and digital series
Talent Relationships
- Identify and attract high-profile talent to partner with on podcasts and series
- Maintain strong working relationships with current hosts and key creators
- Negotiate talent deals in coordination with legal and business affairs
- Oversee the monetization strategy for all podcast and digital content, including sponsorships, advertising, subscriptions, and licensing
- Establish and manage monetization and distribution partnerships and expansion strategies
- Identify potential means for strategic brand partnership and sales opportunities and work with SVP, Business Development and monetization partners to source them
Competitive Analysis & Industry Insights
- Continuously monitor and report on podcast and digital content trends
- Provide thought leadership on creator economy shifts, platform developments, and content innovations
- Benchmark against competitors to refine and evolve strategy
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of experience in digital content strategy, podcast production, digital media, or related fields
- Proven track record of building and scaling a podcast or digital media business
- Strong network of talent, agents, producers, and platform partners
- Deep knowledge of podcast and digital platforms, monetization models, and creator trends
- Experience managing P&Ls and building high-impact teams
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
- Creative thinker with a strategic, data-informed approach to business growth
- Passion for storytelling and understanding of audience behavior across digital channels
