The Philharmonic Orchestra of Indianapolis, the community’s longest established (86 years young!) volunteer community orchestra is seeking an Executive Director. This position is the key management position for the Orchestra and its choral arm, the Symphonic Praise Choir.
The ED has operational responsibility for the administration of programs and implementation of the strategic plan of the organization. The ED is responsible for leadership of development, operations, budget adherence, marketing and community outreach. This position works with the Board of Directors, artistic management personnel and volunteers in completion of the
POI’s mission.
As the major public-facing position in the POI, duties involve development of funding support as well as community engagement. Development includes both seeking new and retaining existing financial resources in various forms. Community engagement includes expanding the involvement of the POI in the Indianapolis community.
The ED has administrative oversight of the POI programs and works with established leaders of programs to ensure successful operations that are conducted within the annual budget. The organization operates on an annual budget of about $150,000. It holds 6-8 performances per year as well as a one week summer music camp. It interfaces with school systems, community

The POI is looking for an energetic candidate who has experience with management of arts organizations in a nonprofit setting, including community and financial development and management of volunteers. The candidate should be collaborative, have strong communication skills and a high degree of commitment.
This is a part-time position with a commitment of 25 hours per week. Salary is 30,000 + per year
