We are seeking aDirector of Product Development to lead the creation and evolution of UnifiMI, our proprietary platform technology, as we expand into key industrial markets including aerospace & defense, automotive, agriculture, construction, transportation, oil & gas, and sporting goods.

This is an engineering leadership role, centered on innovation, design, platform architecture expansion, and drive to commercialization. You will assist in the technical roadmap definition, guide new product development from concept through validation, integrate new manufacturing processes and help establish UnifiMI as a differentiated, category-defining technology across industrial applications.

This role is ideal for a hands‑on design‑driven engineering leader with an entrepreneurial mindset who thrives in building new technologies, shaping product portfolios, and translating complex technical concepts into scalable commercial solutions.

What You'll Do

Lead Product & Platform Development

  • Own the technical vision and product architecture for UnifiMI across multiple industrial applications
  • Lead product development from early concept, feasibility, and prototyping through validation and launch
  • Drive design decisions related to performance, materials, geometry, and system‑level tradeoffs
  • Integrate UnifiMI based solutions into current industrial manufacturing processes
  • Build and execute technology development roadmaps aligned with business growth and market expansion
  • Identify opportunities to extend the UnifiMI platform into new products, applications, and industries
  • Evaluate emerging manufacturing technologies, materials, and design approaches to maintain technical differentiation

Translate Market Needs into Products

  • Partner with commercial, product, and business development teams to translate customer and market needs into engineering requirements
  • Support market entry by providing technical insight during customer engagements, evaluations, and early pilot production

Guide Design for Manufacturability

  • Ensure products are designed for scalable, cost‑effective manufacturing
  • Collaborate with manufacturing partners and internal operations teams during design transfer
  • Maintain ownership of design intent and technical performance, without direct responsibility for plant operations

Build & Lead High‑Performing Engineering Teams

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a product development–focused engineering team
  • Establish best practices for simulation optimization, prototyping, design reviews, technical documentation, validation, and execution
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, rigor, and accountability

Collaborate Across the Organization

  • Work closely with sales, marketing, finance, and operations to align technical strategy with business objectives
  • Support strategic partnerships by providing technical leadership and due diligence

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s or PhD preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in product development and engineering design, including leadership roles
  • Proven success bringing new technologies or platforms from concept to market
  • Strong understanding of design principles, materials, mechanical systems, and validation
  • Experience designing products intended for industrial‑scale manufacturing
  • Strategic thinker who can balance technical depth with commercial realities
  • Strong communication and leadership skills across technical and non‑technical teams

Compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
