Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Director of Data, Analytics & AI is to lead the organization’s data strategy, analytics capabilities, and AI initiatives to help accelerate growth through quick data-informed decision-making, commercial excellence, and innovation. This role will oversee the design, implementation, and governance of enterprise data platforms, and advanced analytics, and AI solutions to leverage that data and make it available to key decision makers throughout the business to deliver actionable insights and measurable business impact.
Essential Duties
Strategic Leadership- Partners with executive leadership across business units to identify highest impact opportunities for AI and analytics to drive share gain and enhance customer experience and then drive project execution of these initiatives to realize results.
- Develops and executes the company’s data, analytics, and AI roadmap in alignment with business goals
- Engages, drives and manages outside 3rd parties, in particular around AI, to drive speed to implementation, optimal UI interfaces and scalability
- Champions a data-driven culture and adoption of data tools within the organization
- Leads the design and implementation of enterprise data architecture, data governance frameworks, and data quality standards.
- Oversees the development and maintenance of scalable data infrastructure, including data lakes, warehouses, and pipelines.
- Directs the analytics function, ensuring delivery of actionable insights, dashboards, and predictive models aligned to the highest impact areas of the business.
- Manages relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure analytics solutions meet business and user needs and are adopted
- Develops and leads AI and machine learning initiatives, from experimentation to deployment.
- Evaluates emerging technologies (e.g., generative AI, LLMs, automation) and assess their potential business value.
- Ensures AI systems are developed ethically, transparently, and in compliance with regulations.
- Builds and leads a multidisciplinary team of data engineers, data scientists, analysts, and AI specialists.
- Fosters a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning ensuring team’s activities are support enterprise strategy
- Mentors and develops talent, providing clear career paths and development opportunities.
- Ensures data management practices comply with privacy and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Oversees data security and access controls in partnership with IT and cybersecurity teams.
- Implements data governance best practices to ensure consistency, accuracy, and trust in enterprise data.
Education & Experience
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Educational Requirements- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field
- 10 - 12 years of experience in data and analytics roles, with at least 5 years in leadership positions
- 5 - 7 years experience as a Business Analyst or similar role translating user requirements
- Proven track record of implementing enterprise-scale data, analytics, and AI initiatives with clear project management experience and agile development methodologies
- Experience managing data infrastructure on modern cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Expertise in analytics tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Power BI, Tableau).
- Strong knowledge of AI/ML frameworks and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Databricks) and a track record of project delivery from ideation to implementation
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to identify and execute on highest impact opportunities through ambiguity and complexity.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-relevant insights.
- Advancement of enterprise data maturity and governance frameworks.
